Four Bars. (Lyrics subject to change.)

Bonds and checks, check the maturity value.
As I matured I was instilled with a specific set of values.
As a young man I meant to sift through the bullshit.
As a makeshift man I managed damage made progress.

Your turn Shane!

Ray Charles Missed My Dick By A Mile - Rocket Man

When I was a kid/ Pluto was a planet/
Became a man when/ Justin pulled on Janet/
Now I’m graduated/ Tassels to the left/
Breast exposed/ so now I’m on to the next/

Get it? Left… breast exposed?

This whole thing was mostly made on my iPhone, with MusicStudio (iPhones own DAW), and vocals were recorded with (shudder) I Am T-Pain. The beat includes no samples, it’s in C major, and is just, really simple. I added a Moog like sound underneath everything, and mainly used a reverbed Cello to make things sound airy and empty. This small set of lyrics (4 bars) was inspired by Ben’s at reply to me of Drake’s Congratulations lyrics, in which Aubrey Graham raps “Wayne if you’re on Mars/ can you pick me up on Jupiter”, as well as the hook idea I currently have, that came before the “verse” idea that I have recorded thus far. The song title is a giveaway to the hook content. Hooked?

From this point, it’s in Ben’s hands, but, I challenged him via twitter that we have to trade bars on this. I’d like to trade every four bars for 16 bars, and then do a fun hook (the “hook” tentative arrangement is at the beginning and the end of the track). As well, I’m hoping he’ll apply some spacey guitar noodles in the key of C major, that i’d be more than happy to make sonic room for within the track.

So glad to be back to making music and rapping about Janet Jackson’s breast.

Updated version of Believe (In Life After Love).
FUN FACT! Ben’s Chorus is now 6 bars instead of 3.
FUN FACT! This track is bouncy and fun and I think that’s a direction I want to further.

To Shane…

I hope your trip home went well. I already miss the shit out of you. But I guess we can get back to the original idea here and start making the same music in different cities.

I was listening to Believe (see video below for explanation of song name) in my car and working with the lyrics I have for it so far.

The lyrics work up until 0:44. I just need the part that comes right before it (0:37-0:44) to happen twice. We’ll call that part the “chorus” for now.

From there I like it until 1:36. I want to repeat the “chorus” part there. Which is the (0:37-0:44) part twice.

From there, we’ll see.

I hope this made sense.

Part One of our first live stream. I (Ben) demonstrate my idea of how some of the guitar parts will be played. Feel free to not watch this and skip to Part Two to see me mess around with Shane’s beat and demonstrate the idea. (Watch this for the LOLZ, banter, build up and bullshit.)

When @colorsthat asked @shanetron.

This is the first time I presented this idea to Shane/asked Shane if he wanted to start this project. I had to ask him on twitter so that it would be all be documented somewhere on the internet. Shane pretty much agrees before he even knew the concept. (“Shane would follow me off of a fucking bridge.” -Shane talking as me.)

A little background information about the band name. When Shane and I were in We Are Vessels we went through a band naming process that lasted way longer than it should have. During this time I racked my brain trying to think of practical/clever/creative band names while Shane tried to come up with ridiculous/offensive/hilarious band names. Ray Charles Misses My Dick By A Mile was the one Shane liked the most. Hence the reason why Shane brought the name up in this first twitter conversation and I knew exactly what he meant.
